Mona Varichon
Mona Varichon is an artist and translator. She studied Sociology at the Université Paris Descartes and Fine Art at the San Francisco Art Institute and the Los Angeles ArtCenter. Her photos, videos and performances function as archives, homages and comparisons of memorable current events or intimate experiences that she captures or stages, in order to share them. Her work circulates on YouTube, in businesses, letterboxes, interiors, cinemas and art spaces. She has exhibited at the Fondation Van Gogh in Arles; CAPC in Bordeaux; Cinéma l’Etna in Montreuil; Villa Arson in Nice; the Egyptian Theatre, REDCAT, Bel Ami and Kristina Kite in Los Angeles; Chichas de la Pensée, Air de Paris, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. She has translated into French the texts of the catalogues of Pippa Garner, Betye Saar, Christina Ramberg and Cécile B. Evans, and the memoirs of North American artists George & Mike Kuchar.
