Claire Staebler
Born in 1978 in Strasbourg,
Claire Staebler is curator and art critic. She is currently the director of the FRAC des Pays de la Loire at its two main sites in Nantes and Carquefou. She served as a curator at Palais de Tokyo in Paris (2002-2007), and was later appointed artistic director of the PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv, Ukraine (2007-2009). Staebler was an associate curator on the exhibition Radiodays, De Appel (2005) and the Busan Biennial (2006). She co-founded with Jelena Vesic No More Reality, Crowd and Performance, a project featured in Belgrade, Amsterdam and Istanbul between 2007 and 2009, and curated independently several exhibitions including La Fabrique sonore, Experience Pommery#9, Reims (2011), Transaction Abstraite, Charles Atlas, Mika Tajima, New Galerie, Paris (2011), and Retrait, Fondation d’entreprise Ricard, Paris (2007). She has been associate curator of La Triennale, Intense Proximity, Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2012), under the artistic direction of Okwui Enwezor.
She collaborates with various magazines such as Flashart, Idea, l’Officiel Art and Zérodeux.
