Jean-Marc Huitorel is an art critic, curator and professor. He has written several articles and books about contemporary art. He recently published La Beauté du geste. L’art contemporain et le sport, Editions du Regard, 2005, Mimetic édition du centre d’art de l’Yonne, 2007. He also participated to the collective works Negro Toi-même, Isthme éditions, Rita Mc Bridge, IAC Villeurbanne, Neal Beggs, Isthme éditions, Pascal Rivet, Isthme éditions, Gilles Mahé, Jean-Michel Place. He collaborates to the Artpress review on a regular basis.
He defines exhibition as another way of doing art critic. Thus, he can translate his reflexion into acts. Besides some monographic exhibitions about artists he tries to promote, he conceived collective and thematic exhibitions about his favourite topics: the links between art and sport, “mimetisme”, commitment. He likes mixing perspectives and mediums.
This book launch follow the exhibition Une Forme olympique, curated by Jean-Mars Huitorel and presented at Espace d’Art Contemporain HEC from September 22th, 2016, until February 24th, 2017.
