« Déplacer » (“Shift”) aims to open up a dialogue between two powerful ultra-contemporary bodies of work that are constantly on the move as a means of shifting genres and aesthetic issues and political and societal practices and engagements.

Jean-Marie GLEIZE
Jean-Marie Gleize is a poet and theorist. Since Léman, published in 1990, he has been working on a cycle of post-poetry books of “prose in prose”, including Le Principe de nudité intégrale, manifestes, 1995; Les Chiens noirs de la prose, 1999; Néon, actes et légendes, 2004; Film à venir, 2007; Tarnac, un acte préparatoire, 2011; and Le Livre des cabanes, politiques, 2015, all published by Seuil. Among his essays bringing a fresh approach to poetry are Poésie et figuration, Seuil, 1983; Simplification lyrique, Seghers, 1987; Francis Ponge, Seuil, 1988; A noir. Poésie et littéralité, Seuil, 1992; Le théâtre du poème : Vers Anne-Marie Albiach, Belin, 1995; Altitude zéro, Java, 1998; Sorties, Questions théoriques, 2009. In recent years he has also contributed to the collective publications Toi aussi tu as des armes. Poésie et politique, La Fabrique, 2012, and La Sainte-Victoire de loin en proche, Contre-Pied / Autres & Pareils, 2012. Jean-Marie Gleize is emeritus professor at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Lyon, where he was head of the Centre d’Etudes Poétiques. He founded and still edits the journal “Nioques” and formerly shared the post of series editor for the “Niok” collection published by Al Dante.

Leslie KAPLAN
Since her first book L’Excès-l’usine, published in 1982 to praise from Marguerite Duras and Maurice Blanchot, Leslie Kaplan has written numerous novels, essays, and plays. Her writing seeks to account for the complexity of the world, particularly the subconscious seen as the defining aspect of mankind. Her works include Le Livre des ciels, 1983; Le Criminel, 1985; Le Pont de Brooklyn, 1987; L’Épreuve du passeur, 1988; Les Mines de sel, 1993; Depuis maintenant, miss Nobody Knows, 1996; Les Prostituées philosophes, 1997; Le Psychanalyste, 1999; Les Outils, 2003; Fever, 2005; Toute ma vie j’ai été une femme, 2008; Mon Amérique commence en Pologne, 2009; Louise, elle est folle, 2011; Millefeuille, 2012; Déplace le ciel, 2013; and Mathias et la Révolution, 2016, all published by P.O.L. Her work has often been adapted for the stage and several of her plays have been directed by Claude Régy, Marcial Di Fonzo Bo, Fréderique Loliée, Elise Vigier, and Christine Faure. Fever was adapted as a screenplay by Raphaël Neal.
