Le Livre Rouge : individual and collective experience

Tuesday 20 December 2011 at 7 pm

C.G. Jung’s Le Livre Rouge is being published for the first time fifty years after the death of the psychoanalyst -in German, French, English, and Italian- enriching approaches to his work as a whole.
The archetype provides a most effective methodological leverage when it comes to the understanding of many phenomena in social life.
Artistic creation -cinema, choreography, music, theater- economic activity -marketing, advertising, management- politics in its postmodern forms, all may be understood only through a reference to ancient archetypal roots.

C. G. Jung’s work is essential to think through this kind of radicalness. Le Livre Rouge, in that it lays out the foundations for a symbolic order where the individual character and its collective roots are closely intertwined, proves particularly invaluable.
The work helps us reflect on contemporary originality from an anthropological original. A prophetic vision in the sense that the prophet is the one who remembers the future!
