Digital Art

Tuesday 12 February 2013 at 7 pm

Truth be told, technique worked to disenchant the world throughout the period called modernity. And isn’t this the way Max Weber defined the tidal wave that was to sweep across the West, starting with the Protestant Reformation? Likewise, art-fleeing the everyday-retreated (was relegated?) into museums.
In a reversal of polarity observed in about every domain, this same technique is now visibly re-enchanting the world-and pervading ordinary existence.
Multiple manifestations of this paradox may be noted! One of the most striking undoubtedly involves what is commonly called « digital art. » This will be the subject of our discussion in the next Invitation to the Imagination.
