La destruction du lieu d'exposition
Conference around the OSCILLATIONS magazine
For its latest issue, the periodical Oscillations published a call for exhibition projects. Jean-Baptiste Farkas’s proposition was selected. It involves the implementation of an IKHÉA©SERVICE titled “La destruction du lieu d’exhibition,” which consists in “the misappropriation of a budget allocated to an exhibition, for an exhibition” (IKHÉA©SERVICES are immaterial works subjected to strict protocols).
The proposition raises a question deemed decisive by Oscillations, and which may be summed up as follows: in the light of changes affecting artistic practice, has the format of the exhibition become obsolete? On Wednesday, April 10, the review is organizing a discussion around this issue. Artist Jean-Baptiste Farkas (who initiated IKHÉA©SERVICES) and art agent Ghislain Mollet-Viéville will present their atypical views on the subject.
