Lou Maneval

Lou Maneval works with a pop, girly aesthetic filled with images from social networks. For her and her generation, the Internet is omnipresent and charms motifs made popular by their recurrence. Referring to them and appropriating AI is a way for Lou Maneval to collaborate with the innovations of her generation. Yet she also cultivates a taste for simple technicality, using sewing, modeling and painting to create what she calls "a place of her reach". Her textile and sculptural works are enveloping and calm, she even says "without anger"; and she paints when she pleases, assuming the incompleteness and sentimental power of the scenographies she imagines.
