Lauren Huret

Lauren Huret lives and works in Geneva, Switzerland.
"My visual work, consisting mainly of videos, installations, performances and collages, attempts to shed light on the belief systems produced by our technical and media devices. I worked regularly with the artist Maria Guta until 2024.
My work has been shown at the Kunstmuseum in ST. Gallen, the transmediale in Berlin, the CAN in Neuchâtel, the Kunsthaus Langenthal, the Panacée in Montpellier, the Copenhagen Contemporary art museum, the Centre d'art contemporain in Geneva, the Centre Culturel Suisse in Paris, the Fondation Ricard, the Haus der Elektronischen Künste in Basel, the Jeu de Paume in Paris, the Red Brick museum in Beijing and many independent art spaces. My performances have been shown at the Prix Suisse pour la performance at the Kunstmuseum in Lucerne, at the FRAC Grand Large in Dunkirk, at the Schinkel Pavillon in Berlin, at the Théâtre de l'Usine in Geneva, at the Les Urbaines festival at the Arsenic in Lausanne, and for the international organisation ICRC in Antalya, Turkey, and in London.
I have published five books to date, including ‘Praying for my haters’, CCS Paris, February 2019, ‘L'âge des techniciens’, with Pacôme Thiellement, Clinamen, June 2017, ‘Artificial fear, Intelligence of Death’, Link, co-pub. Kunsthaus Langenthal, April 2016.
My works are in the following public collections: the Kunstmuseum St. Gallen, La Mobilière, the HEK (Haus der Elektronischen Kunste), the Espace Gantner and the FCAC in Geneva.
In 2018, I received the Pax awards and in June 2023 the Swiss Art Awards with Maria Guta.
I have been teaching regularly since 2016 at Head - Geneva and directed the Interaction bachelor until 2022. I regularly give workshops in other art schools in Switzerland and internationally.
I am currently working on a Kunst Am Bau (public art installation) for the FMAC (Collection d'art contemporain de la Ville de Genève) for the Vernets school in Geneva."
