If an exhibition consists in putting a history and a reading of forms into perspective, if the point of view from abroad on what is foreign is necessarily uncertain, it also produces as a consequence a play of mobile points of view. In this sense, Au loin, une île ! is an exhibition on the British art scene, even as this scene cannot exist in and for itself but may instead be an object of description, analysis, and fantasy.
For about ten years now Guillaume Leblon (b. 1971, Lille) has been one of the most singular voices on the international art scene. His personal exhibition at the Fondation d’entreprise Ricard – the first devoted by a Parisian institution to the work of the artist – coincides with his selection in the competition for the 2011 Marcel Duchamp Prize and his participation in the 11th edition of the Lyons biennale.
« The European seabass is a primarily ocean-going fish that sometimes enters brackish and fresh waters. Its habitats include estuaries, lagoons, coastal waters and rivers. It is found in the waters in and around Europe. It is mostly a night hunter, feeding on small fish, polychaetes, cephalopods and crustaceans. »
The exhibition Rituals. presents a set of works which, through their signification or the process of their creation, manifest the possibility of a contemporary celebration of nature.
This exhibition is devoted to « WANI » art. The neologism is the oral contraction of OANI, which stands for « Objet Artistique Non Identifié » or even « Oeuvre d’Art Non Identifiable. »
For his first personal exhibition in a Parisian institution, Eric Baudart is presenting a set of pieces which show a constantly instinctive practice combining play of material, texture, reflections, illusion, and diversion. The Big Rip, a cosmological model predicting that the density of the universe will increase with time, thus finds a particular echo in the choice of works as well as in the tension created between them in the space of the Fondation d’entreprise Ricard.
