A look back at the residence of Toomanyrecordss for MORE Projects at Aperto

Toomanyrecordss is an expansive project. At once a collection and an archive of unique works of art, the project plays with fetishism simultaneously in music and art.

Since 2018, Davide Bertocchi and Sergio Verastegui have been inviting artists to work on LPs that they choose and entrust to them or send to them by post. They are given carte blanche to create a work with and/or on the sleeve or the vinyl (or both). The records come from a wide variety of sources, sometimes chosen according to the musical tastes of the two artists initiating the project, sometimes because one or more elements in the sleeve appeal to an imagination close to that of the guest artist. Each vinyl thus becomes a ‘unique’ piece, where the collaborative process generates a new object, a hybrid work from the vinyl/cover format.

MORE Projects

MORE Projects is an artist-run space with no fixed space. The space lies between each of its members: a time-space of collective energy. MORE Projects produces exhibitions, generates discourses and positions, plays with commerce by hijacking it, conceives new ways of existing in value, exchange and circulation, opens up collaborative processes in an international and infinite network. MORE Projects has been producing the Toomanyrecordss project since 2018.

The MORE Projects team currently consists of : Anna Piroska Tóth, Camila Farina, Elisabeth Vollmann, Davide Bertocchi, Margaux Bonopera and Sergio Verastegui.
