In Lithuanian mythology, Ašvieniai are twin divinities, often figured as red horses, that pull the cart of the sun goddess Saulė. As wood sculptures they appear as roof decorations, protecting houses. Right hand / left hand, eyes open / eyes shut, with the use of mirrors, frottages, cuttings, foldings, this workshop, placed under the sign of the twinning, will focus on the making of doubled monsters and other twin critters.
Olivier Lebrun is a self-taught graphic designer based in Paris, who mostly works on publishing projects that explore relationships between container and content, speaker and receiver, expert and amateur, ignorant and master, success and failure. He is the recipient of a 2024 research grant from the Centre National des Arts Plastiques. He is part of the publishing houses Yellow Pages and Rollo Press.
