Arte Povera yesterday and today

Tuesday 5 June 2018 at 7 pm

Theme : Latest issue of the Magazine Les Cahiers du Musée national d’art moderne

► Listen to the lecture on France Culture!

The most recent issue of the magazine Les Cahiers du Musée national d’art moderne (no. 143, spring 2018), coordinated by Valérie Da Costa, is entirely dedicated to Arte Povera, that collective adventure born in Italy in the late 1960s, which was more of an artistic situation than a group. This special issue brings together contributions by art historians, curators and artists, who consider the historical relevance of Arte Povera and analyze how it is interpreted within the contemporary art system.

A round table discussion with Jean-Pierre Criqui (curator at the Musée national d’art moderne in the Centre Pompidou, and editor-in-chief of Les Cahiers du Musée national d’art moderne), Valérie Da Costa (art historian and critic, University of Strasbourg), Jacopo Galimberti (art historian, University of Manchester) and Frédéric Paul (curator at the Musée national d’art modern in the Centre Pompidou)
