COLORER
Jérôme Mauche invites Frédéric Ciriez and Jacques Floret.
This “Poésie plate-forme” meeting will feature a dialogue between Frédéric Ciriez, whose world is baroque and colorful, and illustrator Jacques Floret, who creates rigorous compositions with a four-color Bic pen.
The work and approaches of both men feature intense and lively obsessions, the art of portraits and groups, humor and modulation. They are also eager to reawaken our visual enchantment.
The worlds that Frédéric Ciriez’s novels create and navigate mirror the contemporary world, displaying a striking inventiveness and energy. With Éditions Verticales he has published Des néons sous la mer, 2008; Mélo, 2013 (Franz Hessel Prize); Je suis capable de tout, 2016; and BettieBook will appear in January 2018. He regularly works in cinema, having co-wrote Struggle for Life (2016) with Antonin Peretjatko. David Bobée adapted Mélofor the stage in 2015. With Annie Lebrun he is preparing a volume of Sade’s letters, to be published by Éditions Gallimard.
Jacques Floret is an artist and illustrator. He has published a number of books: with Presses du réel/agnès, Alf-moi partout (2006); with Éditions Derrière la salle de bains, Oh le bel été (2009); with Édition P, Laura (2011) and L’ADBC du Dessin (2016); with Littérature mineure, Bolduc bondage(2017).
