Contres-Cultures

Monday 13 May 2013 at 7 pm

What is a counter-culture ?
How can we make sense of the protests and cultural breaks that occurred in the second half of the twentieth century ? How did these constitute an upheaval in the way people thought, starting in the 1950s ? The desire for a radical transformation of society did drive this plural phenomenon. Was it the beginning of postmodernity or the last gasp of modernity ?

To answer these questions, Michel Maffesoli has invited journalist Christophe Bourseiller, the host of France Musique’s morning program and the author of some 30 books (including « Vie et mort de Guy Debord »), and Olivier Penot-Lacassagne, who is an assistant professor at Université Paris 3 – Sorbonne nouvelle and a specialist of Antonin Artaud and poetic avant-gardes.
