De la culture numérique
Michel Maffesoli (Member of Institut universitaire de France, Professeur Émérite, Sorbonne) invites Stéphane Hugon (Director of Eranos Society) and Daniel Kaplan (President of Fondation Internet Nouvelles Générations) to discuss with Vincenzo Susca (Teacher at l’Université Paul Valéry, Montpellier) on the occasion of the publication of his book LES AFFINITÉS CONNECTIVES, Editions du Cerf, 2016.
Social networks, smart phones, tablets, Wi-Fi, wearable technology, bio-technologies, on-line sociability, the proliferation of electronic identities and communities, the internet of objects: the media are no longer immaterial worlds, separated from daily life.
Becoming the world that we live in – its matrix, its dream, its last incarnation. Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Periscope, Vine and other platforms crystallize as many connective affinities for which eroticism and death are two poles of the same condition. Exuberant vitalism, driven both by praise for what is short-lived and by the feeling of the tragedy of existence.
What world are these collective affinities preparing? What role does the human person play? What happens to the public of days gone by in the era of the digital reproduction of works of art?
