Festival de l'ésban, week-end d’ouverture de la 1er Contemporaine de Nîmes

Saturday 6 April 2024 at 2 pm

As part of the first edition of the Triennale entitled "Une nouvelle jeunesse", the Foundation supports the Festival de l'École supérieure des beaux-arts de Nîmes (ésban), a festival of young contemporary creation, during the opening weekend!

For the opening weekend of the 1st Contemporaine de Nîmes, students and a recent generation of graduate artists take over the Hôtel Rivet, home of the École supérieure des beaux-arts de Nîmes (ésban), in the heart of the city. The event was conceived as a result of co-creation and experimentation with curatorial practices, led by curator and independent art critic Andréanne Béguin, in partnership with Mécènes du Sud Montpellier-Sète-Béziers. The young artists are preparing to present recent productions (photography, film, painting, installations, etc.) and to program performance times in an as yet unknown form, the result of several work sessions.

Andréanne Béguin benefited from L'Avancée program at the Pernod Ricard Foundation in 2022-2023, in collaboration with the Beaux-Arts de Paris "artists and exhibition professions" program.

At the very heart of the support that the Pernod Ricard Foundation provides in the field of contemporary art lies its commitment to ambitious projects, aimed at a wide audience, and calling on emerging creation through all the diversity of commitments and practices that characterize it. That's why we've decided to support the new Triennale de Création Contemporaine de Nîmes, curated by Anna Labouze and Keimis Henni. We share with them a common interest in unexpected artistic encounters, and in bringing together personalities from different generations to discuss the issues of our time. We are also sensitive to the curators' attention to designing events that are generous, convivial and deeply inclusive. For these reasons, and because their approach does not exclude a constant search for the highest standards, we are particularly pleased to be associated with this "Nouvelle Jeunesse".
