BIOGRAPHIES
Benjamin SEROR
Born in 1979. Lives and works between Lyon and Paris.
Recently graduated from the Beaux-Arts of Lyon, where he just finished his post-diploma, Benjamin Seror has since made a noticed entrance on the French scene with his performances, sometimes theoretical but often narrative and finishes inevitably in songs. His pieces were presented at the Betonsalon, at the Mac Val and at the Box in Bourges…: Marina Bay, Opéra théorique sur les dangers d’habiter une île volcanique (created with Grégory Cuquel), Plusieurs chansons d’amour, un meurtre et un poème élégiaque sur le métro. The evocative titles, often particularly long, are as much leads to a complex piece’s reading. They articulate exogenous knowledge, entertain with more or less logical digressions and always let the music win over.
Anne-James CHATON
Born in 1970 in Besançon. Lives and works in Paris.
Sonorous poet, Chaton has co-founded in the 90’s, numerous magazines with Christophe Fiat, directed different festivals (as Poézies and Sonorités), and published half a dozen books at the Al Dante and Sens & Tonka Editions. His texts are often represented by performances in France or abroad. In his series of Portraits, initiated in 2004, he enumerates a list of twenty people’s every day life (from the artist to the social assistant or the dentist). In his first novel Questio de Dido (2008), he starts a quest of Virgile’s lost manuscript. Since his return from a residence in Kujoyama, he collaborates with the musicians Alva Noto and Andy Moor.
Jorge-Pedro NUNEZ
Born in 1976 in Caracas (Venezuela). Lives and works in Paris.
After his DNSEP at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts of Cergy in France, Jorge Pedro Nunez starts a serie of solo and group shows. (Abbaye de Maubuisson 2004, La Vitrine 2005, Force de l’Art at the Grand Palais 2006, Point Ephémère 2008, Domaine de la Chamarande 2009…). Remix, associations, collage under all possibilities, misappropriation, compilation/ re-appropriation and undefined piece of art are all starting points of Nunez’s work. Not without humour, combining references or excess of references, Nunez uses knowingly matters and combinations reminding a modern history of art, sometimes brushing the palimpsest but always in a neo-conceptual obedience.
Jorge-Pedro Nunez is represented by the Crèvecoeur Gallery (Paris).
