Writing allows us to take stock, both literally and figuratively, to give substance to what is initially invisible even to ourselves: collective emotion, contradictory sensations.
Writing allows us to slide from agreement to disagreement and vice versa, to make a link between mediums, to reveal what is at play behind textures that seem far apart.
In the exhibition space, the writings show, describe, detail, date, indicate who owns, who lends, who will take back.
From the exhibition space, the practice of writing, for the most passionate, allows the distance often necessary to observe thoughts rise to the surface; or, on the contrary, to establish a connection between the place and those who feel outside it.
Based on a guided tour of Grichka Commaret and Tohé Commaret's show entitled “Miss Recuerdo”, Diaty Diallo will invite participants to revisit their experience, either from their own memories or by writing on-site, in a dialogue between one or more artworks/spaces - the landscapes, repeated motifs, eras, obsessions and theories that run through them - and the person observing them: what about the body that visits, what is this body exposed to, what memories and ghosts, summoned from painted and filmed images, come back to trouble it?
