Initiales/La Revue : Isa Genzken
Initiales, an art and research magazine published by the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon, is proud to dedicate its eleventh issue to a major figure of contemporary sculpture, Isa Genzken.
To celebrate this artist from Berlin, Initiales gives pride of place to a number of generations of artists inspired by Genzken’s universe.
Work by Alexandra Bircken, Camille Blatrix, Jean-Alain Corre, Audrey Dazelle, Jordan Derrien, Rachel Harrison, Renaud Jerez, Florence Schmitt, Armando Andrade Tudela and Sarah Tritz thus enter into a dialogue with views of critics and curators, while a series of theoretical articles from Benjamin Buchloh, Bernhard Rüdiger and Pierre Tillet examine the actual work of the sculptor, from the perfect Ellipsoids from the years 1976-1982, to the more recent, humorous, series of bespectacled Nefertiti, by way of a consideration of social space that translates a number of her architectural projects.
At the heart of this Initiales IG, of course, is an encounter with the artist herself, along with a number of precious interviews with those who have known her, including Kim Gordon and Paul Groot.
With the participation of:

Eric Loret, chief editor of this issue
