Katia Kameli (avec Djamel Kerkar) / Violaine Lochu
Violaine Lochu / Hybird
Barn Owl, Boreal Screamer, Capercaillie, Star Bittern, Wood Pigeon, Gray Jay, Chaffinch, Willow Ptarmigan… Extending a research on the singing of birds in France and Lapland, Violaine Lochu, in a hybridization exercise (far more than imitation) that engages not only her voice but her whole body, reinventing herself as a bird-woman (echoing perhaps the sirens of mythology, equally important figures of her work). The accordion played, scraped, scratched, struck, accompanies this metamorphosis
Katia Kameli and Djamel Kerkar / My anthology of rai
My anthology of rai is a proposal by Katia Kameli and Djamel Kerkar to immerse the audience in a sensory encounter with Rai music – a popular music meaning « opinion » in Arabic – using listening as an open process to navigate through the history of the genre and explore its protesting contribution in the history of Algeria. Reflecting Algerian culture by its musical and textual créolité, rai appears as a substitute for the absence of exchanges between men, women and generations, allowing to consider the social and cultural changes experienced by Algeria and Muslim contemporary society.
