Les Sentinelles#1: « Poetics of Resistance: Conflicts in the Arab World in the Visual Arts

What representations of trauma and rebirth do artists give and how do they map the Arab world through a poetics of resistance? Or, to put it with the historian and philosopher Georges Didi-Huberman: how do images take « position »?

This meeting articulates the presentation of a selection of photographic and audiovisual works from the Cnap from the Arab world and its diaspora and a forty-minute discussion by researchers and artists. The public is invited to intervene after each communication. Pascale Cassagnau, head of the audiovisual collection, and Camille Leprince, research officer, will be in charge of moderation. With Marion Slitine, Pascal Convert and Aliocha Imhoff.
