Me and You in a Living Room is an exhibition
proposing a set of spatial configurations involving specific methods of
occupation: ways of living in time (through repetition, return, convocation,
hypothesis and siesta) and describing them in the exhibition space (by living
in it, making it aesthetic, and leaving traces in it). The exhibition is
constructed from a selection of works by a certain number of artists who have
won the Prix Fondation d’entreprise Ricard. These latter (Christophe Berdaguer
and Marie Péjus, Mircea Cantor, Isabelle Cornaro, Natacha Lesueur, Benoit
Maire, Adrien Missika, Lili Reynaud Dewar and Tatiana Trouvé) are brought
together in a thematic assemblage taking as its starting point the issue of the
being and its subjective relation to space—which is here social (by taking part
in a game and practicing the art of conversation), domestic (through
arrangement, furnishing, memory and decoration), cultural (through history,
invitation and the writing of the other) and structural (in the very measure of
things).

The geographies proposed define and construct specific moments of
personal expressions and inscriptions, innovative spaces for living in for a
while. Their method of occupation is occasional, discreet, and at times
obvious, bringing in new processes of enunciation associated with language and
gesture.

SongEun ArtSpace is
dedicated to promoting contemporary art through significant exhibitions and
various related programs.  Located in the heart of the vibrant Chung Dam
District of southern Seoul, SongEun ArtSpace produces and hosts non-commercial
exhibitions across the three floors, with a cafe/restaurant and a
multi-functional event hall and is open free to the public.
