Meeting between Alexandra Bircken, Claire Le Restif and Lutz Huelle / REPORTED
Due to the strikes on Thursday 19th, the event is postponed. We will communicate a new date as soon as possible.
As part of La pensée corps, an exhibition by Alexandra Bircken and Lutz Huelle with the collaboration of Wolfgang Tillmans, Claire Le Restif, curator of the exhibition, welcomes the two artists to discuss their practice.
The exhibition La pensée corps brings together the work of Alexandra Bircken and Lutz Huelle, both linked to questions of identity, intimacy, permeability and vulnerability of the human being. What links them is a style with forms that are alternately fractured and assembled, cut and sutured, and a long history of friendship.
This exhibition is not about the relationship between art and fashion, even if it appears naturally. The focus is on the mechanisms, the gestures, the thought of the contemporary body and our experience of it as human beings. Both of them sectionalize, split objects and clothes as adjustable models for new ways of living, feeling and representing oneself.
