Métamorphose du divin

Tuesday 26 June 2018 at 7 pm

New lecture of the Invitations to the Imaginary.

“A spiritual battle is as brutal as a battle of men” (Arthur Rimbaud [trans. Jean Nicolas], Farewell, A Season in Hell, 1873)

There is increasingly wide agreement about the saturation of the myth of Progress. Maybe also about fact that the Enlightenment has started blinking! Can we keep saying: “God is dead”? What we know for certain is that his agony is somewhat convulsive.

The disenchantment of the world seems to have had its day and, for better or for worse, a re-enchantment is underway. Thus in the balance of human stories, Prometheus is giving way to Dionysius.

To tackle all of these questions, Michel Maffesoli welcomes Jean-François Colosimo, Alexis Lacroix and Rachel Binhas on the occasion of the publication of the book Aveuglements: religions, guerres, civilisations (Éditions du Cerf).
