Oscillations Contre-tenir
Listen to the conference on France Culture Plus: Oscillations review invite Jérémie Gaulin and Lola Druilhe
Why take the risk of losing our concentration?
To go back over a process: that of a collaboration based on the upholding of disagreement and difference.
To reflect on the iteration of gestures and on outlaw affairs.
To show that problems are not resolved by simply diluting them.
Because we voice our opinions when we are given the chance.
Our proposal is a response to the invitation received from Eva Barto and Hélène Delean, artistic directors of Revue Oscillations. It will be simple in its form: an invitation that we in turn extend to people we know to choose an object to us for 3 December. We will then explore the possibilities to give an overall critical expression to this set of disparate objects presented to us at random. It is a pretext to initiate a debate, to take up a position, to discuss what we are concerned by; it will also provide the chance to mark out – from the other side of the fence – the arguments in play in the creation of a review, to play with the conventions of commentary, and perhaps to place ourselves in danger.
Lola Druilhe is a PhD student at École Pratique des Hautes Études de Paris; Jérémie Gaulin is an artist who studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux and the Haute École d’Art et de Design in Geneva. In 2010 they began work on Pharmakon, a project that brings together artists and researchers from different disciplines. These partnerships have given rise to documents, discussions, objects, projections, lectures and exhibitions.
