Telling Our Stories: Phoebe Gloeckner, Aline Kominsky-Crumb and Robert Crumb in conversation with Dan Nadel

Phoebe Gloeckner, Aline Kominsky-Crumb and Robert Crumb have been in dialogue for five decades through their underground comics. As part of the OAF Paris exhibition The Underground is Always Outside, the artists will discuss underground comics, mentoring, autobiography, San Francisco, and their mutual interest in showing beautiful and ugly truths in their own pictorial language.

12:15 - 1:15 p.m.

'I am Paint, I am Art, I am Stone: the Sacred, the Profane and the Preordained in Lee 'Scratch' Perry's Artistic Practice' by David Katz.

In this illustrated presentation, certified biographer David Katz will use song clips, still images, and film clips to trace the evolution of Lee 'Scratch' Perry's obscure art, highlighting the parallels and disjunctions of his musical productions, as well as the divine and didactic motivation behind it all, which saw him simultaneously revere the spiritual, the sexual, and the scatological.
