postmodern emotional communions

Thursday 27 September 2012 at 7 pm

On the occasion of the publication of his latest book, Homo Eroticus (CNRS Éditions) Michel Maffesoli hosts a discussion with journalists and scholars on « postmodern emotional communions. »

Festive alchemies, the cult of pleasure, the strong comeback of affects and emotions mark the triumph of Dionysos, teaching us that depth hides on the surface of things, in the triteness of everyday life.
This is the triumph of sensible reason over the old modern rationalism, of a collective will to live over individualism-the triumph of life instincts and the imaginary over the stuffy progressivism of our elites and the prudery of right-thinking types.
All of this calls for reflection!
