Screening / Carte blanche by Boris Kurdi
This screening is part of the 22nd Pernod Ricard Foundation Prize’s companion program, Bonaventure (tampering with worlds).
Imbroglio consists of a public projection, that of a video gathering scenes shot on May 20th in the amphitheater of the Pernod Ricard Foundation. In this place dedicated to discourse and governed by techniques of capture and diffusion, we tried to elaborate a common form at the very place of what separates us: the possession of the word, the lost messages, the spectacle of the body itself, the unshared intentions. The hollows and failures of such an enterprise are thus naturally given to the recording. Filmed by the foundation’s employees from the control room, the experiment we conducted seems to verify the maxim that an artistic proposal is always positive. Between the family film and the art film, the result demands the distinction of what interests and what matters, that is the stake of this projection.
