Screening of films by Cécile Hartmann

Saturday 26 November 2022 at 4 pm

During this meeting, three films by Cécile Hartmann will be screened followed by a discussion between the artist, Olivier Schefer and Henri Guette.

The evening draws a terrestrial journey between the Emirates, the United States and Japan from 2 emblematic films of the artist made between 2012 and 2022 The Black Snake, Achrone and the unreleased teaser of her next film The One who repeats. The different geographies and narratives: the construction of the giant Keystone pipeline in the heart of the boreal forest, the construction sites of the city of Dubai, the island of the lost children in Hiroshima Bay, intertwine until they form an emotional and sonic "flow-matter" based on the movement of the elements - earth, water, wind, sand.

A discussion between Cécile Hartmann, the philosopher Olivier Schefer et art critic Henri Guette will be taking place after the screening.
