Robert Breer solo show.

gb agency is delighted to present Order From Chaos That Includes Chaos, the sixth Robert Breer solo exhibition at the gallery, dedicated to the artist’s own implicit vision of goodwill in a society of free and contrary individuals.
The title of the exhibition is from the text Alphabeta in which Breer (1926-2011) examines his place in the world, his fragmentary sense of reality, and his relationships to others. For Breer, “Life keeps going but sideways, not necessarily ahead… It’s a disillusion to think you are getting anywhere.”
Breer’s entire oeuvre takes others into account, calls on every element of our conscious and unconscious, and tests the limits of our perception. Order From Chaos That Includes Chaos underscores this social aspect of the work, as much when it focuses on the individual and the personal as when it is projected onto the broader society.
An artist of movement, disruption, and noncompliance, Robert Breer still endures today. A humanist, Breer believed that if we acknowledge the other, we can maintain harmony. His gaze, at times vigilant, malicious and kind, continues to be with us in an era when fear of the other is inflamed.

With sincere thanks to Light Cone for their precious help.
