BIOGRAPHIES

Véronique Aubouy

Born in 1961. Lives and works in Paris.Since the 20th of October 1993, Véronique Aubouy (film director and artist), films anonymous readers reading extracts from La recherche from Proust. More than seven hundreds bits compose the today’s longest movie in the world, a 75 hours long cinematographic experience. « I have filmed for 13 years, people reading A la recherché du temps perdu, in a chronological order. Each one of them reads two pages. » This would be Véronique Aubouy’s protocol: using the « I » under Proust’s guardianship. Usually seen as a silent and personal practice, the reading becomes an excuse to show an intimate side.
Véronique Aubouy exhibited at the Biennial of contemporary art in Lyon, at the Lieu Unique in Nantes, at the Fondation Guerlain, At the Force de l’Art, proposing every time a fragment of her unfinished work. Like Proust, she is aware that her process is an « impossible art work », and that is precisely from this impossibility that the memory’s evolution uprises, and causes, to the artist and the audience, a reminiscence of the forgotten moments.
For Fiction, Véronique Aubouy will attempt to summarize the Recherche in less than an hour.

Lars MORELL

Born in 1980 in Norway. He lives and works between Oslo and Berlin. Lars Morell develops a work located at the meeting points between different fields. Via the use of divers medias, (installation, video, wall-painting), Morell interrogates himself on representation and perception. Swinging between reality and fiction, at the borders of the visible and the audible, his pieces are inspired by the travelling of a documentary, which once represented out of its recording context, distract our traditional codes of reading and changes the reality in which she is set in. It’s through this physical experience of decontextualisation that the viewer sees the work. After his studies at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo, Morell participates to numerous exhibitions in Berlin, Stockholm, New York. For Fiction, Morell has chosen to introduce his work about the image and magic.
