Launch of the book Ono (Les Pérégrines ed.)

Saturday 8 June 2024 at 4:30 pm

An encounter between Camille Viéville, author of the book and art historian, and journalist and art critic Anaël Pigeat.

Artist, musician, activist, Yoko Ono is all of this and much more. Since the 1950s, she has happily ignored the boundaries between disciplines. In her happenings, her films or her songs, she goes beyond the limits – those imposed by her Japanese origins, her gender, artistic doxa, etc. – to relentlessly honor the power of the imagination. This book is about Yoko Ono’s invention of her life and work. It celebrates “the most famous of unknown artists”.

On the occasion of the publication of ONO in the Icônes collection of Les Pérégrines editions, the Fondation Pernod Ricard invites you to discover the life and work of Yoko Ono (born in 1933), a major figure in contemporary creation, through a exceptional meeting between Camille Viéville, author of the book and art historian, and the journalist and art critic Anaël Pigeat.

This dialogue will allow us to discuss the radicalism of Yoko Ono, a pioneer of conceptual art and performance, an experimental musician but also a rocker, as well as her numerous political commitments and the invisibility to which her work has often been the victim.
