Alexandre Boiron

At the root of Alexandre Boiron's sculptural and installation practice lies a holistic approach to the interpretation of reality and the devices used to apprehend it. Physical sciences, digital technologies, mathematics and computer programming are applied to the creation of environments and extra-human subjectivities that are embodied in machinelike sculptures, and question the stakes of a future of man-machine hybridity at a time of sixth mass extinction. Without giving in to the pythias of transhumanism, he proposes an approach inspired by the philosophies of care and the theories of affect to deal with these entities with their burgeoning personalities.
