Bertrand Dezoteux
Curator
Born in 1982. Lives and works between Bayonne and Paris.
Since the end of the 2000s, Bertrand Dezoteux’s work has never ceased to subvert the traditional categories that compartmentalize cinematographic creation. Exploring the relationship between reality and fiction, technology and narrative, fate and kitsch, one of his fundamental principles is precisely that he does not want to be a prisoner of any aesthetic. Moving with ease from one genre to another, within the regulated space of film, he continually develops and experiments with strategies of translation, transposition and conversion, ultimately disrupting our familiar ways of perceiving and conceiving cinema.
