Christine Safa
Born in 1994 in Paris (France), she lives and works in Paris.
A 2018 graduate of the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, Christine Safa has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Paris and has enjoyed solo exhibitions at the Parisian gallery Praz-Delavallade (Paris) and ICA Milan.
« I understand my paintings as tributes, fragments of memories, what remains. It is what remains that I paint. As I paint, I create the outline, the shape of ruins of memories that welcome and undergo time; which for me means my experience of these interior landscapes. The figures settle there, fade away, become a layer of paint. The color becomes saturated or lets the light shine through. A discernment of emotional states, dictated by the search for a familiar light.
