Mark Leckey

Artist

Born in 1964 in Liverpool, and awarded the prestigious Turner Prize in 2006, Mark Leckey has always crossed disciplines, forging a body of work at the crossroads of conceptual art, pop culture and acute reflection on technology. Leckey's installations revolve around the excavation of memories, both real and fantasized, through consumer objects that crystallize their resurgence, from Benson & Hedges cigarette packs to sound system speaker columns and Toys "R" Us toys.
