Nino Spanu

Nino Spanu has developed various research and investigative protocols around questions of impermanence, trace and identity. The practice of reconstitution plays a central role, as it allows us to depict the regulatory and bureaucratic workings that inform our existence as administered subjects, while at the same time posing the question of writing reality as fiction. Technology, as a tool for apprehending and transcribing the living, is also featured. It points up the absurdity of informational obsolescence and the perpetual failure of the human temptation to organize reality through cataloguing and taxonomy. From mise en scène to mise en abyme, Nino Spanu produces an intertext on the devices in which we live.
