Sébastien Souchon

Author

Sébastien Souchon wears many hats: artist, writer, researcher, editor, writing workshop leader and fictional character. These different statuses enable him to maintain connections between several disciplines and universes. He is the director of éditions extensibles, which itself builds an editorial bridge between the visual arts, literature and research, and supports a collective and experimental approach. This book, conceived with Anna Ternon - co-director of the publication - is a way of officially opening up éditions extensibles to research-creation practices. Sébastien Souchon is a graduate of the École supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux, the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris and the Master de création littéraire de Paris 8 Vincennes - Saint-Denis. He is pursuing a cross-disciplinary fictional project that unfolds the imaginary world of a society subject to a liberal economy that includes a market in identities. This fiction is embodied in stories, a novel, performances and objects, and extends into the theoretical field through a reflection on the notions of fictional object and effective fiction. Sébastien Souchon will shortly be pursuing this research as part of a thesis.
