Talk on art with Bruno Serralongue

Thursday 25 November 2021 at 7 pm

The Art Talks series gives the opportunity to hear what an artist has to say about his or her work in long term conversations.

The work of Bruno Serralongue (born 1968 in Châtellerault, lives and works in Paris) could be defined as anti-reportage. Since the mid-1990s, the artist has developed an independent way of producing information through photography, but also of disseminating it, since it is always in the exhibition format, and not in the press, that he finds his outcome. If the means have evolved over time (he now allows himself to work digitally, and no longer only with a camera, on a tripod), his method is unchanging, and involves physical presence on the spot (without accreditation), exchanges and duration. As for his starting point, it is always the same: « what the newspapers talk about and what I take from them. Then I do with what I find on the spot, with my own means and my own skills. (Interview with Eric Troncy, FROG Issue 17, 2017-2018).
