Virtual, my love (new technologies)
Michel Maffesoli borrowed the theme of this rendez-vous from the title of Serge Tisseron’s latest book, Virtuel mon amour: penser, souffrir, aimer à l’ère des nouvelles technologies [« virtual, my love. thinking, suffering, loving in the era of new technologies »], published by Editions Albin Michel.
The discussion will revolve around the presentation of the essay, which describes how the expansion of new technologies and their presence in most of our daily relational experiences influence our way of thinking, our relation to ourselves and to others, and in the end on « togetherness » in its different forms. Such evolution in human relationships has become an object of investigation for scholars at the CEAQ, who under the direction of Michel Maffesoli have been trying to interpret it from the standpoint of the notion of imagination.
Besides Serge Tisseron, the debate will feature journalist Delphine Le Goff (Stratégies) and scientist Stéphane Hugon (CEAQ) and will put forth a constructive analysis of the consequences of these new practices on desire and human relationships. Indeed, while a whole generation seems to identify easily with these new tools, some questions remain unresolved.
