from 23 to 24 December 2020

For her Carte Blanche, Gina Folly invites her friend Philipp Timischl to develop a collaborative project blending curatorial and artistic practices through a convivial approach.

How to remain connected with one another, how to remain inspired, wakeful, and alert as the pandemic is preventing us from going out, from seeing and touching each other, and even from visiting exhibition venues? As a reaction to this reality, to the urgent need for exchanging with other people and reuniting with the vitality of exhibitions, Gina Folly and Philipp Timischl are proposing an alternative solution: if people can no longer visit the exhibition, then the exhibition will come to them.

Stay brief, and leave gathers 15 works by 17 artists, hand-printed on 100 white T-shirts serving as the exhibition space. In this period of extreme digitization and as 2020 is coming to an end, these 100 single-edition T-shirts follow the expansive and unpredictable paths of postal mail and mail art, seeking to get past our current impediments, regain a sense of tactility, and reach the private sphere in order to make one with the other.

With the participation of : Fabienne Audéoud, Vittorio Brodmann, Baptiste Caccia, Nicolas Deshayes, Gina Folly, Selina Grüter + Michèle Graf, Hulfe, Ilja Karilampi, Lorenza Longhi, Sandra Mujinga, Marlie Mul, Rosa Rendl, Davide Stucchi, Philipp Timischl, Amelie von Wulffen.

This Carte Blanche project is part of the companionship program of the Pernod Ricard Prize 20-21, Bonaventure, curated by Lilou Vidal.

Stay brief, and leave was printed in the serigraphy studio of Fondation Fiminco in Romainville in the context of Philipp Timischl’s residency.
