Florence Jung
Florence Jung lives in Paris
Florence Jung incorporates scripted situations into reality. They infiltrate, disrupt and control the contexts in which they are enacted. These scenarios—which she does not produce images of—circulate primarily through word of mouth and secondary sources.
Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows, including at the Museum für Gegenwartkunst in Siegen, the Helmhaus in Zurich, the Art Encounters Biennial in Timișoara, the Ural Biennial in Yekaterinburg, the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem, the Frac Lorraine in Metz, the Athens Biennial, the Kunsthalle in Basel, the Kunsthaus in Zurich, Gasworks in London, the Haubrok Foundation in Berlin, Forde in Geneva, the Estonian Museum of Contemporary Art in Tallinn, the Oscar Niemeyer Museum in Curitiba. Her work is currently shown at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris (La République Cynique), the Musée d’Art moderne et contemporain in Strasbourg (Mode d’emploi), the Musée Léopold Hoesch in Düren (What did you expect?) and soon at Portikus in Frankfurt am Main. She has been awarded the Swiss Performance Award, the Swiss Art Award and the Georg and Josi Guggenheim Prize.
