Paul Maheke

Paul Maheke is a graduate of the École nationale supérieure d’arts de Paris-Cergy and the Open School East in London/Margate. Through a varied and often collaborative corpus including drawings, performances, installations, sound and video, Maheke focuses on the potential of bodies as archives, in order to examine how memory and identity are constituted and formed. His works have been exhibited at such venues as the Tate Modern, London; the Venice Biennale; The Renaissance Society, Chicago; Centre Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo, Bourse de Commerce – Collection Pinault and Lafayette Anticipations in Paris; MO.CO, Montpellier; Triangle France, Marseille; Baltic Triennial 13; Manifesta 12, Palermo; Cabaret Voltaire, Zurich; and the Chisenhale Gallery and South London Gallery, London. He was nominated for the twenty-first Ricard Foundation Prize in 2019 and the Future Generation Art Prize in 2021.
